Ski Maintenance Tech
About the role
The compensation for this position is $24 - $28 per hour based on experience. Maintain and repair ski lifts controls, safety systems and other electrical equipment. Perform diagnostic and repair procedures on electrical and charging systems, hydraulic drives, gear pumps and valve systems. Perform routine maintenance and repair on gas and diesel engines, including diesel fuel systems. Responsible for grooming ski slopes and features either during the day or evening. Supervise the monitoring of pump stations, valve stations and Flowtronixs during start-up, shutdown and operation of the snow making system. Assist in setting up and operating snowmaking equipment, hydrants and preparing fixed gears for making snow all over the mountain. Rearrange snowmaking lines and blow equipment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair ski lift controls, safety systems and other electrical equipment.
- (Daily pre-operation inspections of ski lift electrical and mechanical components shall be performed after initial training).
- Perform diagnostic and repair procedures on electrical and charging systems, hydraulic drives, gear pumps and valve systems.
- Perform routine maintenance and repair on gas and diesel engines, including diesel fuel systems.
- Diagnose problems, perform maintenance, and repairs to power train systems including automatic, power shift and manual transmissions, planetary gearsets, driveline components, U-joints, and bearings, etc.
- Responsible for grooming ski slopes and features either during the day or evening.
- Supervise the monitoring of pump stations, valve stations and Flowtronixs during start-up, shutdown and operation of the snow making system.
- Assist in setting up and operating snowmaking equipment, hydrants and prepare fixed gears for making snow all over the mountain.
- Rearrange snowmaking lines and blow equipment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of experience in mechanical maintenance and operation.
- General knowledge of principles, practices, methods, materials, and mechanical maintenance.
- Superior troubleshooting and repair skills.
- Self-starter with ability to work with little supervision.
- Ability to work closely with the Activities Team.
- Customer-service oriented.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to speak English.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, holidays, and weekends.
