Ski Instructor - Previous Experience - Winter 2026 - 27
PURPOSE OF POSITION
A Ski Instructor is responsible for teaching alpine skiing to Deer Valley guests (children or adults) at first time to expert ability zones. Responsibilities include:
- Teach alpine skiing in first time through expert ability zones (based on experience and certification) using PSIA/AASI teaching methodology and following the safety codes of the mountain
- Must be dressed, equipped, and at the meeting location for lessons on time
- Must adhere to lesson times, lunch breaks, and schedules of the Ski School
- Plan, organize, and implement appropriate ability zone plan for each ski lesson
- Conduct lessons in a professional manner
- Attend instructor meetings, training, and performance reviews
- Adhere to Ski School and HR policies and procedures
- Display professional conduct with parents, children, and caregivers in all situations
- Write daily progress cards for students and their parents
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
- Current Alpine Level 1 certification or foreign equivalent and 300 hours Deer Valley experience or 400 hours of alpine ski teaching experience
- Must have excellent guest service skills
- Able to ski first time to expert terrain in variable conditions
- Able to lift 40 lbs., stand/ski six to nine hours, and perform bending, lifting, and twisting movements
- Able to work in variable weather and snow conditions
- Able to work weekends and holidays
- Own/use alpine ski equipment
Pay
$20.00+ per hour, plus student add ons
