  • Work outdoors in a winter mountain environment in a physically strenuous and mentally demanding role for the full operating season.
  • Arrive by 8:45 AM unless teaching an afternoon or evening shift (some weekends, holidays, or powder mornings may require arriving as early as 7:00 AM to account for traffic).
  • Complete additional training before teaching solo.
  • Work every Saturday and/or Sunday during multi-week programs for consistency.
  • Full-time instructors (4-5 days/week) must teach at least 2 afterschool programs per week from January through March and work 5 days/week in March for spring break.
  • Part-time instructors must work at least 1 day per week (Saturday or Sunday) and teach one afterschool program (4:30–6:30 PM) once a week for 8 weeks starting in January.
  • Wear a Brighton uniform, black pants, nametag, and helmet while working.
  • Use a personal phone for communication, scheduling, guest contact, and timesheet approval.
  • Complete digital report cards for each student.

Requirements

  • 18+ years old.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Able to demonstrate beginner riding skills and ski/snowboard at an intermediate level.
  • Willingness to work with students of varying ages, skills, and group sizes.
  • Intermediate+ skiing or snowboarding skills and a growth mindset (openness to learning and feedback).
  • Must submit a resume during the application process.

Pay

Instructors are paid an hourly wage plus a “student incentive” per student. Work is commission-based and not guaranteed daily due to business demands. Typical shifts range from 4.5 to 6 hours per day.

Schedule

  • Typical schedule: 8:45 AM – 4:00 PM, 1–5 days per week (potential evening classes depending on schedule).
  • Position starts mid-November and runs for the full operating season.
