PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A PART-TIME POSITION ONLY! Ideal for individuals who work evenings or nights and are seeking a flexible daytime role.

Responsibilities

  • Explains and demonstrates principles, techniques, and methods of regulating movement of body, hands, or feet to achieve proficiency in skiing.
  • Observes students during practice to detect and correct mistakes.
  • Explains and enforces safety rules and regulations.
  • Manages personal schedule with supervisor or manager; checks schedule on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Provides a guest experience that exceeds expectations.
  • Explains and demonstrates use of apparatus and equipment.
  • Supports Telluride Ski & Golf sustainability initiatives.
  • Adheres to Telluride Ski & Golf policies and procedures.
  • Knows and adheres to Skier Responsibility Code and Colorado Skier Safety Act.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Verifiable babysitting or other childcare experience (outside of family members preferred).
  • Infant and Child CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence and present information effectively in one-on-one and small group settings.
  • Intermediate or better skier, comfortable on intermediate slopes.
  • Able to gain PSIA Level 1 Certification.
  • Basic knowledge of child development and abilities from birth to five years.
  • High physical and mental energy level, quick reflexes, patience, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime.
  • Must function effectively at elevations of 10,000 feet or higher and in inclement weather conditions.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear.
  • Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Occasionally required to sit, reach with hands and arms, climb, or balance.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs.
  • Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

  • Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.
  • Moderate noise level in the work environment.

Pay

Starting wage: $23.50/hour (DOE).
