Six Week Float- Reserve Teacher

About the role

Minnetonka Public Schools is accepting applications for a Six Week Reserve Teacher at Excelsior Elementary for the 2025‑2026 school year. The Building Float Teacher is a highly flexible and adaptable educator who provides instruction and support to students in various classrooms throughout the school building. The successful candidate will teach a range of subjects and grade levels, and will work collaboratively with teachers and staff to ensure continuity of instruction and student success. Responsibilities

• Teach a variety of subjects and grade levels.
• Deliver instruction to students in accordance with established lesson plans and curriculum guidelines.
• Adapt instruction to meet diverse student needs.
• Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Communicate effectively with students and teachers.

Requirements

• Valid Minnesota Teaching License or Short Call License. (Candidates without a Minnesota license but holding a bachelor’s degree may apply for a Short Call Substitute license through the Minnesota Professional Educators Licensing and Standards Board: https://mn.gov/pelsb/.)
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in using classroom technology to support instruction.

Pay

Six Week Float – Reserve Teacher rate: $290.03 per day.

Schedule

Consistent on‑site presence Monday through Friday, during building‑specific hours.
