Sitter Service Aide

About the role

Visiting Angels of Tupelo is hiring a Sitter Service Aide to support elderly and home-care clients in Northeast Mississippi, including areas like Saltillo, Pontotoc, New Albany, and Fulton. This role helps clients maintain dignity while staying or recovering at home.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
• Manage light housekeeping tasks
• Encourage clients to meet exercise and fitness goals
• Prompt clients to take prescription medications on schedule
• Assist with shopping, grocery handling, and meal planning/preparation
• Support mobility and ambulation, including doctor visits and walks
• Respond quickly to medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Excellent time-management skills
• Reliable transportation to client visits
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
• Training or knowledge in First Aid and emergency response
• Compassion for vulnerable individuals and a desire for meaningful companionship
• Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards
