About the role

The Landscape Team Leader/Equipment Operator position is available in Northland, New Zealand. This permanent position involves leading a team and managing various landscape and site work tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a schedule and meet service expectations.
  • Operate excavators, skid steers, tip trucks, and other landscape tools.
  • Surface and resolve customer concerns, reporting back to the Project Manager.
  • Assist in resolving customer service issues as needed.
  • Ensure work is performed safely and by company policies.
  • Communicate with the Project Manager to meet client needs and expectations.
  • Deliver services as specified on client sites.
  • Identify and implement more efficient work methods.
  • Coordinate service execution with the Project Manager.
  • Oversee day-to-day site operations and delegate work to crew members.
  • Provide feedback on crew members to the Project Manager.
  • Develop and train crew members.
  • Perform daily equipment inspections, maintenance, and tool preparation.
  • Accurately log crew time, material usage, and equipment cycles.
  • Participate in branch meetings as directed.
  • Perform site layout using construction documents and site plans.
  • Install and maintain silt controls and construction fencing.
  • Execute tasks such as digging, shoveling, cutting, sweeping, raking, wheelbarrowing, picking stones, clearing debris, loading, unloading materials, organizing materials, maintaining a clean job site, and performing site work and landscaping tasks.
  • Follow company safety policies and procedures.
  • Display willingness to continuously learn new things.
  • Clearly communicate and organize workflow on a daily basis.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience in landscaping or excavation.
  • 1-3 years of experience in reading, understanding, and executing landscape and site work plans.
  • Ability to operate required equipment and tools safely and responsibly.
  • Valid Class 2 Driver’s License.
  • Flexible availability to work some weekends.
  • Highly motivated, self-driven individual with attention to detail.
  • Punctual, dependable, and accountable.
  • Capability to multi-task.
  • Culturally diverse work force interaction skills.
  • Clean and professional appearance.
  • Able to lift heavy objects.

Benefits

Salary rate is variable and based on experience and attitude. The start date is immediate.

Pay

Variable salary based on experience and attitude.

Schedule

Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
