About the role
Pratt & Whitney, a division of RTX (the world’s largest aerospace and defense company), is seeking a Senior Manager – Site Training to serve as the subject-matter expert for on-the-job manufacturing technical training in Machining & Quality competencies at the Asheville facility. This role partners with business leaders to assess training needs, develop standardized technical curriculum, and ensure a world-class workforce.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain standardized technical training curriculum for the Asheville site.
- Partner with Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Operations teams to create, maintain, and deploy training programs.
- Implement a Learning Management System for site departments.
- Conduct assessments to determine technical proficiencies and develop transferable training programs for hourly employees.
- Facilitate and deliver technical training via in-person, online, and self-directed methods.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors to deliver training on new and existing equipment, processes, and competencies.
- Establish standard work and best practices for cross-business leverage.
- Proactively inform management of training status, gaps, and solutions.
- Participate in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate onboarding with Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College and Pratt & Whitney Asheville teams.
- Ensure compliance with training documentation and record maintenance requirements.
- Support Operations & Operational Excellence teams as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience, plus a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field with at least 7 years of relevant experience.
- U.S. citizenship is required (program access restrictions).
- Willingness to support pre- and post-shift training, weekends, and alternate schedules to meet organizational needs.
- Up to 10% travel.
Qualifications We Value
- 3+ years of technical training experience; Train-the-Trainer certification.
- Knowledge of lean principles.
- Proven ability to coordinate and complete projects efficiently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and strong technical skills.
- Advanced Blueprint interpretation and GD&T skills.
- Experience designing, writing, and evaluating technical content under aggressive timelines in a manufacturing setting.
- Passion for learning new systems quickly and translating business requirements into employee-friendly training materials.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
Pay
The salary range for this role is $132,400 – $251,600 USD. The final offer considers role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
