What You Will Be Doing
- Proactive involvement in the Company’s HSQE management processes.
- Submit near observation/miss reports and encourage others in the team to do so as well.
- Support investigations into observation/near misses, accidents or incidents.
- Carry out regular safety walks.
- Actively encourage continuous improvement activities for both maintenance and procedures.
- Support engineers involved in these activities.
- Attend and participate in meetings with the customer where necessary.
- By exception, undertake fault finding and repair using appropriate technical information (e.g. Technical drawings and fault finding guides).
- Sample checking of relevant documentation for all work carried out in order to accurately record activities that are recorded for the company and the customer.
- By exception, participate in 24/7 shift working including callout when required.
- Take line management responsibility for the Team Leader and the engineers in their team.
- Take local management of any engineers working on their site.
- Deputise for the Supervisor as and when required.
- To embrace digitalisation.
Position Qualifications
- NVQ 3 minimum in engineering related subject.
- From an Engineering background.
- Line management of employees and relationship building with stakeholders is important.
- Engineering knowledge of diesel engines is desirable but not essential.
- Knowledge of the rail industry desirable.
- A self-starter who works safely and methodically.
- Outstanding safety awareness.
- Proficient in MS Office, particularly XLS, Word and email.
