Site Team Leader

What You Will Be Doing

• Proactive involvement in the Company’s HSQE management processes.
• Submit near observation/miss reports and encourage others in the team to do so as well.
• Support investigations into observation/near misses, accidents or incidents.
• Carry out regular safety walks.
• Actively encourage continuous improvement activities for both maintenance and procedures.
• Support engineers involved in these activities.
• Attend and participate in meetings with the customer where necessary.
• By exception, undertake fault finding and repair using appropriate technical information (e.g. Technical drawings and fault finding guides).
• Sample checking of relevant documentation for all work carried out in order to accurately record activities that are recorded for the company and the customer.
• By exception, participate in 24/7 shift working including callout when required.
• Take line management responsibility for the Team Leader and the engineers in their team.
• Take local management of any engineers working on their site.
• Deputise for the Supervisor as and when required.
• To embrace digitalisation.

Position Qualifications

• NVQ 3 minimum in engineering related subject.
• From an Engineering background.
• Line management of employees and relationship building with stakeholders is important.
• Engineering knowledge of diesel engines is desirable but not essential.
• Knowledge of the rail industry desirable.
• A self-starter who works safely and methodically.
• Outstanding safety awareness.
• Proficient in MS Office, particularly XLS, Word and email.
