About the role

The Site Supervisor oversees park operations, special events, and general maintenance of grounds and buildings. This role involves interacting with special interest groups, supervising staff, and ensuring adherence to NOVA Parks standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in supervising park operations, including opening/closing facilities, ordering supplies, resource management, and cash handling.
  • Monitor rentals, retail sales, events, and marina operations (location-dependent).
  • Set up and take down special events.
  • Perform general maintenance of buildings and grounds.
  • Supervise part-time/seasonal park attendants and rangers, including scheduling, training, and motivation.
  • Prepare and maintain records of money-handling transactions.
  • Perform manual labor and routine maintenance, including equipment use (hand tools, power tools, mowers, tractors).
  • Ensure compliance with NOVA Parks safety and business standards.
  • Gain working knowledge of the site’s Operation and Management plan.
  • Assist with public relations by greeting visitors, handling inquiries, and enforcing rules.
  • Serve as Manager on Duty in the absence of the Park Manager.
  • Correct and report unsafe conditions to the Park Manager.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned by the Park Manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with one year of business experience (or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training).
  • Demonstrated supervisory skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with staff and visitors.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn NOVA Parks business practices and money-handling procedures.
  • Familiarity with mechanical equipment and related materials.
  • Ability to handle cash accurately and maintain records.
  • Proficiency in using calculators and computers.
  • Flexibility to perform duties of part-time/seasonal employees as needed.
  • Ability to work a variable schedule, including early/late hours, weekends, and holidays.
  • Availability for additional hours during peak seasons.
  • Physical strength and dexterity to perform tasks like lifting, stooping, bending, and working in uncomfortable positions.
  • Possession of or ability to obtain a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
  • Willingness to purchase and wear a standard uniform.

Pay

$18.00 per hour.
