About the role

The Site Supervisor oversees 1-3 licensed child care centers, managing programmatic, financial, and staffing aspects to support Catalyst Family Inc.’s goals. This role involves planning, implementing, assessing, and reflecting on programs for children from infancy through school age. Site Supervisors occasionally work in ratio, lead classrooms, and mentor teaching staff to ensure high-quality programming and safe, healthy environments for all children.

Responsibilities

  • Program Quality:
    • Serve as a liaison to communicate the agency’s mission, philosophy, and curriculum to staff, parents, school personnel, and government agencies.
    • Ensure streamlined processes for documenting learning, assessments, and internal/external reviews.
    • Support and mentor teachers in creating, implementing, and evaluating center action plans.
    • Collaborate with staff to maintain an enriched, dynamic, and culturally responsive environment that meets industry standards (ERS).
    • Develop Behavior Action Plans with families and provide tools to support agreed-upon strategies.
    • Support regularly scheduled PAC meetings and trainings.
    • Identify opportunities to improve center performance, adhere to budget guidelines, and proactively support enrollment and marketing.
    • May work in ratio depending on center needs.
  • Financial Management:
    • Develop and implement a profitable budget for the center(s) while following budget guidelines.
    • Ensure full enrollment and attendance; earn all applicable ADE funding.
    • Take responsibility for the financial performance of the center(s) and develop corrective action plans for underperformance.
    • Ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
    • Manage billing, collections, and reporting to ensure timely collection of all monies owed.
    • Conduct all purchasing for the center(s) and manage staffing levels and expenses prudently.
    • Identify ways to improve financial performance and grow the business proactively.
  • People & Performance Management:
    • Act as a change agent to advocate, communicate, and implement organizational changes.
    • Assess and forecast staffing needs based on business requirements and environmental changes.
    • Implement job-matching techniques to create full-time positions and develop internal candidates.
    • Encourage staff to act as recruiters and promote the employee referral program.
    • Screen, interview, and hire candidates to match center needs.
    • Orient and integrate new staff to achieve high retention.
    • Set and communicate clear job expectations aligned with company goals and hold staff accountable.
    • Manage staff performance proactively through coaching, feedback, and support.
    • Facilitate staff retention, talent management, and capacity building through professional growth plans.
    • Nurture team spirit, maintain high morale, and build workplace culture aligned with the agency’s mission and values.
    • Facilitate effective, participatory team meetings that foster ownership of outcomes.
    • Provide on-site mentoring, modeling, and training for teaching staff, including observing lesson plans and providing constructive feedback.
  • Community Partnership:
    • Represent the center/agency at school and community events.
    • Provide excellent customer service by building authentic, reciprocal, and culturally responsive relationships with children, families, schools, and communities.
    • Participate in school activities (PBIS meetings, IEP meetings, PTO events) as an agency representative.
  • Compliance:
    • Provide coaching, mentoring, and feedback to teaching staff to maintain quality programming.
    • Maintain compliance with all regulating agencies in the Center Manager’s absence.
    • Ensure full compliance with agency policies and procedures and protect agency assets.

Requirements

  • Education:
    • Minimum AA degree with 24 ECE/CD units, 6 units in administration, and 2 units in adult supervision; or BA with 12 units of ECE/CD plus 3 units of supervised field experience in ECE.
    • Site Supervisor permit preferred or expected to acquire upon hire.
  • Experience:
    • 3 to 4 years of experience in the ECE/CD field.
    • 1 year of experience mentoring and leading adults or teaching staff preferred.
  • Other Qualifications:
    • Working knowledge of accounting, budgeting, staffing, marketing, and business management highly desirable.
    • Ability to provide strategic approaches and assist in implementation.
    • Understanding and valuing diversity, cultural sensitivity, and inclusivity.
    • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to listen, receive feedback, and provide constructive feedback.
    • Ability to take initiative in partnering within the community and with internal departments.
    • Stay abreast of new research and theories in ECE/Youth fields.
    • Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor.
    • Bilingual skills a plus.

Schedule

Full-time, exempt position. Monday through Friday, 8-hour shift between the hours of 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
