JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Train, supervise and evaluate seasonal/part-time staff.
- Schedule staff and verify staff hours using city supported scheduling software.
- Direct and assist with daily activities and facility preparation and clean up.
- Order or purchase needed supplies for camp activities.
- Review, adjust and conduct training activities for staff around the Staff and Parent Manuals and follow the guidelines set forth by these manuals.
- Maintain records of campers' emergency contact information.
- Assure that the records are taken when campers leave the facility for outings such as walks, trips to the Onalaska Aquatic Center, all field trips, etc.
- Compile Incident/Accident Report Forms, Conduct Reports and all other required paperwork, check for complete and correct information.
- Ensure that the paperwork is sent through proper channels in a timely fashion.
- Dispense medication as needed, log in the Medication Record and ensure correct records are kept by staff under your supervision.
- Plan and lead staff meetings, trainings and workshops.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment for both staff and campers.
- Responds to accidents and emergencies in an appropriate manner; administering first aid according to the blood borne pathogen exposure control plan.
- Completes incident and accident reports in accordance with department policy.
CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- CPR/First Aid Certification required (class available upon hire).
- Minimum of one year of recreation and/or child care experience.
- Must possess supervision and leadership dispositions/skills.
- Must possess good knowledge of school-aged activity programs.
COMPENSATION
The wage range for these seasonal, limited-term positions is \$16.00 to \$20.00 per hour depending on qualifications, budget and/or position. There are no benefits associated with limited-term positions.
