About the role

This position oversees operations, strategic planning, and personnel management of field staff within the plumbing trades, and coordinates fabrication for the assigned project(s).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee operations and strategic planning of field staff within the plumbing trades.
  • Care for coordination of fabrication for the assigned project(s).
  • Manage resource allocation and direct team selection.
  • Execute project execution strategies and schedules.
  • Ensure project progress, health, and safety reports are provided.
  • Implement QA/QC protocols and safety department’s protocols.
  • Adhere to and promote company policies.
  • Coordinate with labor relations representatives to resolve disputes.
  • Order tools and equipment required for the project.
  • Review and track project labor budgets.
  • Monitor and advise on quality control measures.
  • Schedule and coordinate all labor and site activities.
  • Attend jobsite meetings and provide input to the GC and PM.
  • Review and process required project documents.
  • Engage with ACCO departments, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Collaborate with other field supervisors and share experience.
  • Support the project(s) strategic plan and goals.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with construction operations.
  • Ensure safety measures are up-to-date and communicated effectively.
  • Drive personnel performance evaluations.
  • Lead and mentor top performing leaders.
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives and projects.

Requirements

  • Extensive market experience and technical knowledge in Plumbing and Process Piping systems.
  • Proven experience on large commercial, industrial, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, and high-tech construction projects.
  • Experience managing plumbing scopes ranging from $5M–$100M+, with the ability to lead field crews of 20–100+ plumbers, pipefitters, and subcontractors.
  • Strong understanding of mission-critical and complex project environments including data centers, Central Utility Plants, healthcare, industrial/process facilities, semiconductor, and advanced manufacturing projects.
  • Experience with mission-critical project environments including data centers, Central Utility Plants, healthcare, industrial/process facilities, semiconductor, and advanced manufacturing projects.
  • Knowledge of current building and mechanical code.
  • Experience with the various business and corporate software technologies ACCO utilizes.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Google Workspace, Adobe, ProCore, Bluebeam, Box, and other relevant software.
  • Experience with remote training software and technologies.
  • Experience with CRM/PM platforms like Bidtracer and collaboration tools like Smartsheet, Slack, Revitzio, and PlanGrid.
  • Experience with design/detailing software like Autodesk AEC Collection (Revit, AutoCAD, Assemble, Navisworks) and Spooling software like MSuite BimPro and Trimble.
  • Experience with fabrication software like MSuite FabPro.
  • Experience with remote training software and technologies used within best-in-class organizations.
  • Experience with Spanish language.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience in Construction leading projects.
  • Member of the local sheet metal union in good standing.
  • Experience with the Local Unions Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
  • Education in construction management, engineering, or architecture preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting plans and specifications.
  • Strong industry knowledge and excellent leadership skills.
  • Effective communicator at all levels of the business.
  • Experience and deep understanding of the related trades (sheet metal, controls, air balance).
  • Experience with remote training software and technologies used within best-in-class organizations.

Pay

Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Schedule

Travel requirements are 0 - 50% of the time to and from the primary project site to regional offices and facilities or other assigned project sites.

Physical Requirements

The employee may regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision. The auditory/hearing abilities required by the job include the ability to hear customers calling by telephone. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for prolonged periods, stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to walk and sit. This individual must be a responsible person and regular attendance is required.
