About the role

This position oversees operations, strategic planning, and personnel management of field staff within the hydronics trades (Mechanical Piping). Responsibilities include managing mechanical piping scopes ranging from $5M–$150M+, supervising field crews, and executing QA/QC protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee resource management and direct reports including General Forepersons, Forepersons, Journeypersons, Apprentices, Tradespersons, and Trainees.
  • Lead and oversee hydronics field activities to ensure standards and productivity are met.
  • Execute project execution strategies and schedules, and provide weekly project progress, health, and safety reports.
  • Coordinate fabrication operations, shop production teams, and prefabrication programs.
  • Implement safety department protocols and corporate policies and procedures.
  • Plan for successful project installation and participate in project kick-offs, mid-jobs, and wrap-ups.
  • Attend jobsite meetings and provide input to the General Contractor (GC) and Project Manager (PM).
  • Review and track project labor budgets and engage with labor relations representatives.
  • Order tools and equipment required for the project and verify equipment prior to delivery.
  • Schedule and coordinate all labor and site activities to meet project expectations.
  • Monitor and advise on quality control measures to ensure high-quality output.
  • Manage labor requests and reductions with the local union labor halls.
  • Collaborate with other field supervisors and share experience to develop best practices.

Requirements

  • Extensive market experience and technical knowledge in Mechanical Piping systems.
  • Proven experience on large commercial and industrial projects, including data centers, central utility plants, healthcare facilities, high-rise buildings, industrial plants, and institutional facilities.
  • Strong understanding of mission-critical and complex project environments, including data centers, central utility plants, healthcare, industrial/process facilities, semiconductor, and advanced manufacturing projects.
  • Experience managing mechanical piping scopes ranging from $5M–$150M+, with the ability to lead field crews of 20–150+ pipefitters, welders, and subcontractors.
  • Leadership skills including honesty, integrity, patience, empathy, and a strong work ethic.
  • Effective communication at all levels of the business.
  • Experience and deep understanding of the related trades (sheet metal, controls, air balance) and general fabrication practices.
  • 12+ years of experience in Construction leading projects.
  • Member of the local sheet metal union in good standing.
  • Experience with the various business and corporate software technologies ACCO utilizes.
  • Proficient in English, Spanish, and knowledge of local quality, occupational safety, and health regulations for construction job sites.
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Skilled in reading and interpreting plans and specifications.

  • Experience with remote training software and technologies used within best-in-class organizations.

Schedule

0 - 50% travel to and from the primary project site to regional offices and facilities or other assigned project sites.

Physical Requirements
