Responsibilities
- Manage and enforce Site Safety Programs for assigned project(s) by identifying, eliminating, and controlling hazardous conditions that may lead to injury and/or property damage.
- Ensure the safety of all persons and property on the job site through enforcement of job-specific safety standards, best management practices, and Site-Specific safety programs, resulting in an accident/incident-free project.
- Enforce safe work practices and conditions in accordance with all State, Federal, Local regulations (including OSHA), as well as Site-Specific policies and owner/contractual requirements.
- Conduct daily and/or weekly job site inspections as appropriate or specified by the job.
- Record observations from site inspections and complete required reports.
- Investigate, corroborate, and document all accidents, incidents, and near misses on the jobsite.
- Recommend and implement corrective action based on policies, guidelines, and laws.
- Conduct weekly "Toolbox Safety Meetings" and document content and attendance.
- Conduct Safety Orientation for new employees.
- Advise project staff on site-specific safety issues and guidelines.
- Evaluate the need for safety training and make recommendations.
- Ensure crew behavior on client sites aligns with company safety culture.
- Understand and promote lagging and leading safety indicators to achieve established safety goals.
- Manage knowledge of job site/area-specific safety requirements, safety equipment, material procurement, training requirements, and tracking of training.
Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of Construction Industry methods and OSHA standards.
- OSHA 500 and/or its equivalent or BCSP certification.
- 6-10 years of safety experience in the construction industry.
- Basic working knowledge of MS Office and Windows.
- Willing to travel.
