Site Safety Manager

About the role

Griffith Company is seeking a Site Safety Manager to support their Alternative Delivery team's work on a two-year project in the heart of Los Angeles, from 120th Street and Vermont to Sunset Boulevard and Vermont. The Site Safety Manager will oversee safety on-site and collaborate with the Project Manager and Superintendent.

Responsibilities

• Provide jobsite orientation and safety training
• Enforce safety standards per the Incident Investigation Procedure Manual (IIPP)
• Ensure subcontractor compliance with jobsite safety regulations and requirements
• Conduct incident investigations and prepare reports
• Follow up to ensure corrective actions are implemented
• Coordinate emergency response and ensure employees receive medical treatment
• Maintain jobsite postings and conduct site audits
• Assist with submittals and provide daily reports on safety inspections
• Perform noise, air flow, and air quality testing and maintain records
• Call underground utilities and maintain project logs
• Provide safety and security materials to personnel
• Attend safety meetings and perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of safety experience in construction industry as a safety professional or supervisor
• Minimum of 7 years of on-site safety supervisory experience on civil projects
• Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) Certification required
• Certified in OSHA 40 Hazwoper strongly desired
• Certified in OSHA 30 hour Construction
• Certified in OSHA 510 or 500 required
• First aid CPR training required, trainer preferred
• Working knowledge of excavations, confined spaces, fall protection, hazard communication, rigging operations, and ability to conduct awareness level training for each discipline
• Solid interpersonal skills, able to work well with the construction project site team, owners, and construction management firms
• Moderate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• Solid physical fitness to perform job duties, including lifting and carrying materials, walking job sites, and working in various weather conditions

Benefits

Annual Salary Range: $100,000 - $130,000. Relocation assistance will be provided to candidates outside of the local area on a case-by-case basis. Griffith Company offers a comprehensive benefits package including:
