About the role

The Site Safety Lead oversees contractor safety compliance and supports the safe execution of various construction and operational activities at an active site. This role requires a proactive safety culture and ensures adherence to safety policies, OSHA regulations, and site-specific requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the on-site safety lead for contractors and project teams, promoting a proactive safety culture.
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies, OSHA regulations, and site-specific requirements through routine inspections and audits.
  • Review contractor safety documentation and verify compliance within the Avetta contractor management system.
  • Validate contractor qualifications, training records, and insurance requirements to resolve compliance deficiencies.
  • Lead and facilitate daily Toolbox Talks and pre-task safety briefings, communicating site-specific hazards and safety expectations.
  • Respond to safety incidents, conduct investigations, and develop corrective action plans.
  • Track safety metrics and provide routine reporting to project leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Construction Management, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 4+ years of safety experience supporting construction, industrial, manufacturing, data center, logistics, or large-scale operational environments.
  • Experience managing contractor safety programs and reviewing/approving JHAs and AHAs.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry safety standards.
  • Experience conducting field audits, inspections, and safety observations.
  • Ability to lead daily safety briefings and communicate effectively with contractors and project stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience utilizing Avetta or similar contractor compliance management platforms.
  • OSHA 30 Certification.
  • CSP, ASP, CHST, OHST, or equivalent safety certification.
  • Experience supporting commissioning, construction, automation, material handling, fulfillment center, or data center projects.
  • Experience working in high-volume contractor environments with multiple trades.
