Site Safety Lead
About the Role
Acuren is seeking a local Site Safety Lead to support operations in Kingsport, TN. This will be an embedded role focused on providing safety direction on site, ensuring company and regulatory compliance, delivering procedural training, enforcing safe practices, and leading risk management specific to the NDT industry.
Responsibilities
- Uphold, safeguard, and promote Acuren’s values and philosophy relating to ethics, integrity, safety, quality, and corporate responsibility.
- Actively communicate with all levels of the workforce to develop a culture that embraces safety, recognizes hazards, and takes action to minimize risk.
- Ensure employees conduct hazard assessments on every job and understand they must refuse unsafe work.
- Provide resources for quality safety equipment, safety training, and regular safety audits.
- Directly manage and lead investigations of all safety incidents.
- Ensure clients receive quality services in a timely manner through worker training, procedural adherence, project supervision, and peer review.
- Conduct ongoing safety assessments of the workforce and oversee safety audits (facilities, operations, equipment, and processes).
- Lead incident investigations, participate in management review calls, write Incident Report Summaries, and communicate lessons learned across the region.
- Perform root cause analysis to determine preventive measures or corrective actions.
- Serve as the liaison with client safety personnel, participate in pre-job meetings, post-job reviews, and gather feedback to improve safety programs.
- Provide safety training for all employees and management in the assigned area.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local government laws (OSHA, EPA, USDOT, NIOSH, Traffic Safety, Workers' Compensation, etc.).
- Partner with the Corporate Safety Leader to establish annual plans/objectives, defining clear goals, measures, and schedules to meet regulatory and organizational expectations.
- Maintain required safety training, DOT, and other related files and records.
- Follow direction from the Site Manager.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in field service employment specific to regional client industries (e.g., petrochemical, mining, etc.).
- Previous experience as an occupational safety leader or field safety experience.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of OSHA as it relates to an NDT environment.
- Strong technical background in NDT methods and procedures.
- Excellent technical and non-technical verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-starter, enthusiastic, and energized team player.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
