About the role
The Site Safety and Health Officer manages the KG's Safety and Health Program for all operations and maintenance activities performed under the contract. The SSHO develops, implements, and administers the Accident Prevention Plan, Activity Hazard Analyses, and site-specific safety procedures while ensuring compliance with EM 385-1-1, OSHA, DHA, and MTF safety requirements.
Responsibilities
- Administer KG Safety Program
- Implement Accident Prevention Plan
- Coordinate Activity Hazard Analyses
- Maintain safety documentation
- Conduct workplace safety inspections
- Investigate accidents and near misses
- Lead monthly safety meetings
- Monitor KG safety compliance
- Support OSHA, EM 385-1-1, and MTF inspections
- Maintain EMR and DART records
- Monitor subcontractor compliance
- Ensure Alternate/secondary SSHO coverage
Requirements
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification
- Minimum 5 years continuous safety management experience
- Eight (8) hours of documented safety training annually for the previous five years
- Experience supervising safety programs within O&M, industrial, or construction environments
- Knowledge of EM 385-1-1
- Experience conducting hazard analyses and implementing controls
Qualifications
Mandatory experience and certifications:
