Responsibilities
- Walks the jobsite routinely and watches for unsafe conditions, unsafe behaviors, PPE issues, housekeeping concerns, and access hazards
- Reminds employees, contractors, and visitors of required PPE and basic site safety expectations
- Addresses straightforward issues promptly and professionally, and escalates serious, repeated, or uncertain concerns to project leadership
- Maintains a visible, approachable safety presence and encourages workers to raise concerns
- Affords assistance with site orientations, pre-task meetings, toolbox talks, and safety reminders
- Reports injuries, incidents, near misses, and hazardous conditions immediately
- Supports first aid or medical assistance when needed and within the limits of training
- Supports other basic site-safety activities as assigned
Requirements
- Has current OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification (preferred)
- Holds a high school diploma or equivalent
- Has some previous experience on a construction or industrial jobsite, in safety support, or in a medical, clinical, or occupational health setting
- Displays strong observation and communication skills, with the confidence to address basic concerns respectfully
- Is dependable, able to follow direction, and comfortable working independently while recognizing when to involve project leadership
- Has First Aid or CPR certification (helpful but not required)
