Site Reliability Engineer, Tech Lead

About the role

Piper Companies is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer, Team Lead to join a growing technology organization. The Site Reliability Engineer, Team Lead will provide technical leadership while designing, building, and maintaining scalable infrastructure platforms across on-premises and AWS environments, ensuring reliability, performance, and operational excellence. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with remote work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Kubernetes clusters across on-premises and AWS environments
• Lead the architecture, scalability, and reliability of Linux-based infrastructure platforms
• Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar technologies
• Serve as the technical lead for platform operations, troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues, and mentoring team members

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, Infrastructure Engineering, Systems Administration, or a related field
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining Kubernetes clusters in both AWS and on-premises environments
• Strong expertise with Linux infrastructure, AWS cloud services, and large-scale platform design
• Knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and experience supporting Ruby-based applications is highly preferred
• Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar Infrastructure as Code tools
• Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining platforms at scale in a technical lead capacity

Pay

$150,000 – $180,000
