Duties and Responsibilities
- Architect and maintain secure networking infrastructure, including VPCs, firewalls, and Interconnects, following zero-trust principles.
- Drive the deployment and lifecycle of all network components using Terraform and GitOps workflows to ensure consistency and auditability.
- Implement Identity-Aware Proxy (IAP), Workload Identity, and VPC Service Controls to ensure a compliant, secure environment.
- Use Python or Go to build logic-heavy automation for user onboarding, repository management, and system monitoring.
- Manage and harden self-hosted GitLab infrastructure using IaC, ensuring high availability and robust disaster recovery.
- Hardened foundational components against threats and integrate "Compliance-as-Code" to support Authority to Operate (ATO) requirements.
- Engage in the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including Merge Requests (MRs), code reviews, and automated infrastructure testing.
Required Qualifications
- Eligible to obtain or hold an active U.S. Security Clearance
- Must have an active CAC at a minimum
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience
- Deep, hands-on experience specifically within Google Cloud Platform or Amazon Web Services.
- Proven experience writing, testing, and managing modular Terraform at scale.
- Ability to manage complex infrastructure solely through CLI and Terraform (no console access).
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system architecture to predict and prevent system failures.
- Comfortable in a high-level language like Python or Go beyond basic scripting.
Desired Qualifications
- Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer, Professional Cloud Architect, AWS Certified Security - Specialty, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, or HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate.
- Security+ Certification
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or similar.
- Experience with Kubernetes and container hardening.
- Familiarity with the DoD RMF framework or building systems within an ATO (Authority to Operate) boundary.
- Ability to handle high-privilege access (Owner/Editor) while establishing administrative guardrails for the broader team.
