Key Responsibilities
- Own core cloud infrastructure, including Kubernetes, networking, databases, orchestration, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Migrate workloads onto the client’s Kubernetes platform and stand up new production regions (EU, government sites).
- Build self-service tooling and increase automation across the platform.
- Define and maintain SLOs/SLIs, implement monitoring and alerting, manage runbooks, and participate in on-call rotation.
- Harden compliance (SOC2, FedRAMP) and improve cost efficiency of the cloud bill.
- Operate infrastructure at scale (hundreds of nodes, high QPS, production customer-facing systems).
- Work with product and engineering leadership to set strategy and priorities for the Infrastructure team.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering (AWS/GCP).
- Education: BS in Computer Science or closely related field (firm requirement).
- Citizenship: Must be a US citizen due to government client requirements.
- Technical Skills: Hands-on expertise with GCP and/or AWS. Production Kubernetes (GKE/EKS) and Terraform. Deep experience with networking (VPCs, subnetting, peering, load balancers). Linux systems administration (CentOS, Alpine). Docker, GitOps, ArgoCD, Helm. Python scripting. Monitoring/Alerting tools (Grafana, GroundCover, or HashiCorp Vault).
- Operational Experience: Database provisioning and operations (managed and self-hosted, ideally on Kubernetes). Defined SLOs/SLIs, built monitoring and alerting, maintained runbooks, and participated in on-call rotations. Built and maintained CI/CD pipelines shipping code to production. Experience running databases on Kubernetes with high queries per second.
