Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of quality professionals, including direct management of quality engineers, supervisors, technicians, and auditors.
- Maintain and continuously improve the site's Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with IATF 16949 requirements.
- Serve as the primary site quality representative during customer audits, third-party audits, and certification activities.
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action initiatives utilizing tools such as 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, PFMEA, and Control Plans.
- Partner with operations and engineering teams to reduce defects, improve process capability, and drive manufacturing excellence.
- Monitor and report key quality metrics including PPM, customer complaints, scrap, rework, internal nonconformance, and audit findings.
- Lead customer quality initiatives and ensure timely resolution of customer concerns.
- Collaborate with supplier quality teams to address quality issues and improve supplier performance.
- Support APQP, PPAP, and product launch activities to ensure successful introduction of new products and processes.
- Coordinate quality activities across multiple manufacturing sites when required and share best practices throughout the organization.
- Ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements and applicable regulatory standards.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and operational excellence throughout the plant.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field required; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Minimum 5+ years of quality management experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Automotive manufacturing experience required.
- Proven experience managing direct reports and leading quality teams.
- Strong working knowledge of IATF 16949; certification or lead auditor experience preferred.
- Thorough understanding of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, MSA, SPC, Control Plans, and Core Quality Tools.
