Site Quality Inspector

About the role

This position supports the project site quality programs, typically overseeing quality control activities for multiple disciplines, areas, or organizations with larger or more complex scopes of work. Reporting to the Site Quality Manager, the role ensures Fluor’s project activities comply with quality requirements in our prime contracts.

• Monitor and inspect project and construction execution through regular surveillance and/or inspection.
• Review and approve contractor inspection and test plans; identify hold or witness points.
• Perform physical inspections across disciplines such as civil, concrete, buildings, welding, piping, fixed and rotating equipment, electrical, control systems, coatings, insulation, and non-destructive testing.
• Ensure documentation is completed, signed off, and compiled to support turnover and record retention.
• Document, evaluate, and resolve issues within the corrective action program.
• Plan and organize work assignments and carry out tasks from management.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Accredited two- or three-year Technical or Engineering Technology diploma (or global equivalent) in an applicable field, plus ten years of work-related experience; or a combination of education and directly related experience totaling twelve years if no accreditation. Local regulations may require additional or different qualifications.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
• Job-related technical knowledge necessary to complete the role.
• Ability to learn and apply local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
• Attention to detail and time-effective work habits.
• Prior experience performing quality activities in the nuclear industry.
• Ability to perform duties on an active construction site.
• Working knowledge of nuclear quality assurance requirements.
• Must be able to provide proof of U.S. citizenship.

Qualifications

• Four years of quality assurance/quality control work experience, including at least two years of supervision.
• Current certification in quality control, inspection, or nondestructive examination by a recognized authority (e.g., ASNT, AWS, API, NACE).
• Competence with computers and software, including word processing, email, and spreadsheets.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work well with others.

Pay

Salary range: $92,000 – $171,000. The market rate is typically at the midpoint of the range, with final salary determined by candidate qualifications, relevant experience, geographic location, internal pay equity, and prevailing market conditions.
