Essential Functions
- Provide behavioral health screening of detainees referred by facility staff or identified by prescreening through booking process or nursing services.
- Provide individual and/or group psychoeducation and skills-based interventions.
- Auxiliary custody and medical staff in the monitoring of behavioral health for referred detainees.
- Coordinate with custody and medical staff in the management and treatment of detainees with behavioral health concerns.
- Monitor and assess therapeutic support of segregated and isolated detainees.
- Support and supplement the activities of county behavioral health services in the stabilization of at-risk detainees.
- Collaborate with county behavioral health services for continuity of care and discharge planning/case management via sharing of pertinent patient information.
- Complete documentation as well as maintain records for referral tracking and continuous quality improvement (CQI).
- Facilitate training on behavioral health related topics as requested.
Supervisory Duties
- Supervise direct reports to deliver quality patient care.
- Conduct orientation, skills evaluation, and quarterly coaching for direct reports in a timely manner.
- Monitor and approve staff time sheets to ensure accuracy.
- Partner with medical staff and management teams to facilitate teamwork to collaboratively accomplish organizational goals.
Qualifications
- REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Master’s Degree in a behavioral/social science field (e.g., Psychology, Social Work) from an accredited college or university required.
- Current licensure with clinical specialty in the state from the appropriate state licensing board required.
- CPR certification must be obtained prior to hire and maintained while in this role.
- Hands-on or online certifications are accepted.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to drive a motor vehicle are required.
- Must be able to practice independently required.
