About the role

The Aviation Life Support System (ALSS) Technician, Supervisor/Site Lead position requires a minimum of 15 years of Navy/Marine Corps maintenance experience, a graduate of Navy PR “A” School, or equivalent Air Force or Army MOS courses. Applicable training, qualifications, and certifications are necessary to perform services as outlined in the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program, COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2_ Series and Class V Ammunition and Explosive Material.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the CH-53E/K, V-22, UH-1Y, AH-1Z, C-130J, F-18C/D, AV-8B, and F-35B/C O-Level maintenance tasks.

  • Perform troubleshooting, removal, installation, repair, inspection, and/or documentation of egress and escape systems, inflatable systems; emergency radio systems; survival items and personal equipment; pyrotechnics, and/or other related ordnance; aircrew breathing systems; and support equipment.

  • Acceptance and transfer of egress and escape systems; inflatable systems; emergency radio systems; flight clothing; survival items and personal equipment; pyrotechnics, CADS/PADS, and/or other related ordnance; aircrew breathing systems; and support equipment.

  • Fitting, manufacture, troubleshooting, removal, installation, repair, inspection, and/or documentation of flight clothing.

  • Handling, stowage, and safety precautions associated with pyrotechnics, CADS/PADS, and/or other related ordnance; and aircrew breathing systems.

  • Perform pre-flight (including pre-positioning support equipment and flight gear) to ensure aircrew equipment is ready for use, in support of the sorties and timelines of the daily flight schedule and/or fleet support periods.

  • Support Services: Perform pre/post-op checks and operation of support equipment, including conditional, scheduled inspections, and periodic maintenance.

  • Corrosion Control Services: Perform and support Corrosion Control and ensure aircraft components, ALSS gear, and SE services are performed according to IAW governing directives by ensuring all inspection standards are met.

  • Tools Equipment and Hazardous Materials/Waste: Inventory and maintain tools, and properly handle hazardous materials/waste per activity’s Safety Data Sheet (SDS) and local governing directives.

  • Government Tool Accountability and Inventory: Follow established Government tool accountability and inventory procedures.

  • Technology Use: Ensure personnel are competent in Microsoft Office software and have the ability to utilize SharePoint and other Government websites.

  • Maintenance Instruction Manuals (MIMs): Perform all tasks outlined in the Maintenance Instruction Manuals (MIMs) or equivalent maintenance publications and messages.

  • Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs): Make Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) readily available between the Contractor and Contractor employees.

  • Emergent Maintenance: Ensure personnel respond to rapid task changes and are available to respond to emergent maintenance requirements within one hour during normal working hours.

Qualifications

Current and medically qualified per NAVMED P-117 standards to maintain night vision systems. Extensive understanding of the USMC aviation activities with routine exposure to training. Comprehension of aircraft systems and capabilities across all United States service branches, U.S. allies, and other military or contracted aircraft inventories.

Skills

Competence in Microsoft Office software, ability to utilize SharePoint and other Government websites, and knowledge of aircraft systems and capabilities across all United States service branches, U.S. allies, and other military or contracted aircraft inventories.
