About the role
L3Harris is seeking an Aviation Life Support Technician Inspector/Maintainer to support aircrew survivability and mission safety. This role requires a combination of technical expertise and safety-critical responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Inspection, maintenance, testing, repair, and documentation of aviation survival and safety equipment.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and operational standards for all life support systems.
- Operate as a safety-critical professional, adhering to technical manuals, manufacturer instructions, and agency directives.
- Perform tasks requiring assembly of close-tolerance parts and use of common hand tools.
- Operate self-propelled vehicles such as forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, aircraft support equipment, and towing vehicles.
- Navigate environments including noise, proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, chemicals, odor, and dust.
- Complete and pass ordnance physical and flight line physical.
- Work shifts, including 7 days a week, up to 20% overtime.
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Travel up to 25% of the time.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 8 years of relevant experience, or 2 years post-secondary/Associate’s degree with 4 years of relevant experience.
- Active Secret security clearance.
- Graduate of Navy PR “A” school or equivalent.
- Explosives handling certified as per OPNAVINST 8023.24 as required.
- Minimum 6 months experience with NALCOMIS Optimized Organizational Maintenance Activity (OOMA) and Advanced System Management (ASM) systems.
Qualifications
- Experience with P-8, 737, or other relevant aircraft.
- Read, interpret, and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, T.O specs, and engineering specifications.
- Able to climb, including ladders, stairs, and portable stands.
- Ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate strong motivational skills.
- Effective problem-solving abilities.

Pay
The salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C., Denver, or NYC areas is $82,500 - $153,000. The salary range for this role in Colorado state, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New York state, Cleveland Ohio, and Vermont is $71,500 – 132,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
