General Overview
This job is a General Manager in a medium to large site (>400 employees).
Responsibilities
- Manages all functions including manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain with a strong focus on quality and inventory and materials management.
- Manages dotted line relationships with Finance, Human Resources, IT, and other support functions.
- Provides functional direction to all indirect areas supporting site business.
- Manages the facility with responsibility for the operations of the building including maintenance, security, safety, cleanliness, etc.
- Manages transitions to new scales of operations.
- Manages New Product Introductions and Product Transfers.
- Understands the business opportunities or conditions that drive high utilization for the facility and uses the appropriate judgement to make the right selection.
- Balances the creation of an empowered culture with the need to follow up closely enough to ensure high standards of execution.
- Instills in the management team a focus on Operations Excellence through flawless execution i.e., detail and discipline in an environment of increasing complexity by utilizing World Class Manufacturing practices and 6 Sigma quality initiatives.
- Applies best practices aligned to the appropriate operations model(s) for the facility.
Requirements
- Twelve plus years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor's degree in related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Engineering degree or equivalent preferred, MBA an asset.
