Site Director
About the role
You will lead a dedicated after-school program serving up to 15 children and support the early childhood program during morning hours, working across multiple age groups in a comprehensive learning environment. Responsibilities
- Establish outcome-driven programs and activities that prepare youth for success and model positive behavior for members.
- Register new members and conduct club orientations.
- Ensure all childcare licensing requirements per the NH Childcare Licensing Bureau are met and maintain a healthy, safe environment with well-maintained facilities, equipment, and supplies.
- Participate in grant applications, fundraising events, and initiatives to support program funding.
- Increase visibility of Club programs through daily schedules, event announcements, advertising, flyers, and press releases.
- Maintain close daily contact with staff, members, supervisors, community leaders, parents, and partners to resolve issues and build relationships.
- Evaluate and report on site programs monthly; lead recruitment, retention, and public outreach for partners, volunteers, members, and parents.
- Ensure administrative and operational systems are in place to maintain facilities and equipment; manage a budget and compile regular reports on activities, attendance, and participation.
- Recruit, manage, and provide career development for site staff and volunteers; conduct regular staff meetings.
Requirements
- At least 20 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED.
- Meet one of the following qualifications:
- Minimum associate’s degree in child development, education, recreation, or a related field from a regionally accredited college or university; or
- Certificate of successful completion of recreation director training plus 1,000 hours of experience working with children in a licensed child care program, recreation program, or elementary school; or
- 12 credits in child development, education, recreation, or a related field from a regionally accredited college plus 1,000 hours of experience working with children; or
- Current certification as an educator by the New Hampshire Department of Education; or
- 2,000 hours of experience working with children plus either:
- Current certification as a Paraeducator II by the New Hampshire Department of Education; or
- Documentation of enrollment in at least three credits in child development, education, recreation, or a related field and a written plan for completing at least three additional credits, with documentation of six total credits filed within 12 months; or
- Written documentation from or on file with the department showing prior qualification and employment as a site director in a school-age program on or before the effective date of these rules.
Background Checks
All candidates must submit to an FBI fingerprint background check, a New Hampshire Criminal Records Department check, and a First Advantage background check. The NH Childcare Licensing Bureau may prohibit employment based on disqualifying findings. The organization reserves the right to determine final employment status. This organization maintains a zero-tolerance policy for abuse and will take disciplinary action, up to and including termination and cooperation with law enforcement, for any mistreatment or abuse by an employee.
