Site Dental Director
Essential Duties And Major Responsibilities
Provides clinical leadership ensuring adherence to U.S. dental regulations, accreditation standards, and quality assurance program
Oversees clinical operations in alignment with state and federal regulatory requirements and community health center best practices
Supports providers in developing proficiency with U.S.-based clinical workflows, documentation, and compliance standards
Directs and coordinates the patient care activities. Performs quarterly chart audits. Completes staff reviews. Attend required meetings.
Works closely with Director of Dental Operations.
Responsible for training and orientation of all Dentists and Hygienists.
Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement
Maintains quality, safety, and/or infection control standards
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Supervises, advises, and trains clinical professionals in area of expertise
Works both independently and in a team
Works collaboratively with the Management Team
Demonstrates understanding and commitment of the health center mission
Demonstrates understanding and commitment to the established CHC Values and Standards
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
DENTIST
Provides direct service to patients
Ensures that DPH, OSHA and Dental Association regulations are strictly followed
Complies with departmental protocols
Meets productivity standards
Provides general dentistry
Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of dental care
Commitment to providing dental care to families in a medically under-served community
Willingness to be flexible in the development of new methods of dental services delivery
Ability to deal with sensitive information in a highly confidential manner
Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with patients, families, visitors, co-workers, health care professionals, funders, and other regulatory agencies
Maintains quality, safety, and/or infection control standards
Awareness of resources available within the health center to accommodate the needs of patients.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience working as a dentist in a U.S.-based dental practice or community health setting preferred
- Demonstrated experience with U.S. dental regulations, documentation standards, and patient care workflows required
- Experience working within a U.S. healthcare system, including familiarity with Medicaid (MassHealth) and managed care environments strongly preferred
- Knowledge of U.S. compliance standards including OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control protocols required
- DDS or DMD from an accredited Dental School
- If Limited Licensed must have a min. of 2 yrs. AEGD or GPR successfully completed residency program.
- Licensed in Massachusetts to practice Dentistry
- Experience with electronic dental/health record systems used in U.S. clinical settings preferred
- Prior experience in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), community health center, or similar setting preferred
- Public Health experience preferred
- CPR certified or equivalent
Physical Requirements
- Near visual acuity to observe changes in health/illness status of patients
- Manual skills required include good eye and hand coordination in combination with finger dexterity for administration of injections, treatments, etc.
