Design Director

About the role

Jack Morton is seeking a Design Director to join our team. Our ideal candidate has a history of developing award-winning Environmental Designs and has experience leading a team of designers.

Responsibilities

• Design immersive, compelling 3D environments to house branded experiences
• Present concepts to clients and internal stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
• Immerse yourself in the brand and audience to inspire your design
• Be responsible, organized, and accountable for the work of your team
• Understand materials, building techniques, and construction drawings
• Create control packages for estimation
• Understand how to work within budgets and regulations
• Able to lead and mentor a team
• Communicate feedback to team members in a constructive fashion
• Collaborate within the Creative department and across the organization
• Communicate with clarity, confidence, competence, professionalism, and authenticity
• Stay current with design trends and apply them to your work where relevant

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Directly supervises 1-5 non-supervisory employees
• Plans, assigns, and directs work
• Applies performance appraisals
• Rewards and disciplines employees
• Addresses complaints and resolves problems

Qualifications

• BA or BFA in Industrial Design, Architecture, Scenic Design, or other relevant degree; or 10+ years relevant design and experiential marketing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience with pharmaceutical clients/brands a plus
• Strong communicator and dynamic presenter
• Entrepreneurial and proactive
• Passionate, ambitious, risk taker
