Responsibilities

  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to help produce engineering plans and exhibits.
  • Work with engineering and survey professionals to fulfill site civil and underground utility-related tasks.
  • Manage individual project phases such as survey, pre-construction, construction support and As-Built phases.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to support project objectives (scope, schedule, budget, deliverables, client satisfaction) in accordance with established metrics.
  • Develop or improve technical expertise in site/civil design and construction, hydrology/hydraulics, erosion and sedimentation control, slope stability, underground utilities, and stormwater management.
  • Primarily support projects through construction and as-built activities, including helping to establish workflows and schedules, attending client meetings and site visits, assisting with data collection and analysis, troubleshooting processes, documentation, and collaborating to successfully resolve issues.
  • Perform quality control checks (QA/QC) on construction plan sets, materials calculations, shop drawings, grading, and other civil construction elements.
  • Confirm on-site materials match engineering plans and shop drawings. Work with surveyors to schedule checks and confirm grading matches engineering plans. Ensure a high level of quality is achieved during the construction process and any deviation from plans or design is resolved to the satisfaction of client and design engineer.
  • Identify, document, and collaboratively work with project team to resolve any issues that arise during civil construction efforts.
  • Provide coaching and training to less-experienced staff. This may include both formal content in a classroom or office setting as well as mentoring and supervision in the field.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant field and office experience (more is better).
  • Ability to work proficiently with AutoCAD Civil3D, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite or other relevant office-based skills.
  • Strong ability to communicate thoughts and concepts with team members from diverse backgrounds, including willingness to learn and work collaboratively across multiple teams and disciplines.
  • Solid understanding of civil engineering plan concepts, calculations, and information, including ability to read, understand, and apply them in a field setting.
  • Good oral and written reporting and documentation abilities, including writing trip notes, field reports, and other project records.
  • Current driver’s license and ability to drive to project construction sites.
  • Be physically able to safely inspect active construction sites, including walking on uneven ground, avoiding site hazards, and exposure to heat/cold/other weather conditions.

Qualifications

  • Strong preference for education, certifications, and professional experience in engineering, survey, construction management, HSE, or related field that adds value to the project team and overall program.
  • Relevant training and certifications is a plus (e.g. OSHA 30, EI, PE, PS, etc.).

Skills

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil3D.
  • Experience with Bluebeam and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Understanding of civil engineering plan concepts and calculations.
  • Ability to read and apply civil engineering plans in a field setting.
  • Good report writing and documentation skills.
  • Physical ability to inspect construction sites and work in various weather conditions.

Pay

$75,400 - $113,200 USD
