Site Civil Coordinator/EIT

About the role

This position supports the nationally recognized Building Engineering Services Group at HDR, focusing on mechanical, electrical, structural, and site civil engineering services for various market sectors including commercial, healthcare, education, municipal, civic, industrial, and mission critical buildings and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Assist on tasks associated with design and plan production for site development projects (layouts, grading, drainage, stormwater management, erosion & sediment control, site utilities, etc.)
  • Develop concept site layouts that are compliant with all jurisdictional requirements
  • Prepare site civil engineering calculations in support of the site development (stormwater pond sizing, culvert and pipe capacity analysis, hydrology calcs, etc.)
  • Cover administrative tasks associated with preparation of specifications, contracts documents, and permit submittals
  • Attend and contribute to client meetings
  • Cookordinate with subconsultants for support and design services
  • Embrace continuous learning and professional growth in site civil design

  • Communicate effectively with managers and team members
  • Mentor junior staff and delegate appropriate tasks
  • Manage your time and organization of multiple tasks/projects
  • Perform other duties as required

Requirements

  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate or ability to obtain within 12 months
  • Familiarity with CAD software such as Autodesk Civil 3D and specialty site civil engineering software (e.g., HydroCAD, Autodesk Hydraflow Extensions, etc.) as required
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications and Bluebeam Revu
  • Bachelor's degree
