WHY DO WE NEED YOU? The Site Buyer is responsible for managing purchasing and compliance activities for Saint-Gobain's Kansas City Insulation facility. This role supports plant operations by sourcing goods and services, negotiating contracts, driving cost savings, ensuring compliance with company policies, and utilizing digital procurement tools to deliver efficient service to internal customers. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain a supplier sourcing strategy and evaluate local suppliers.Lead competitive bidding events and negotiate contracts for OPEX and CAPEX purchases using Saint-Gobain procurement tools.Identify, track, and report cost savings initiatives.Create, manage, and maintain supplier contracts using approved templates and contract management systems.Ensure compliance with purchasing policies, preferred supplier programs, internal controls, and procurement platforms.Coordinate purchasing activities across departments to support operational and project needs.Create and manage purchase orders while ensuring timely delivery of goods and services.Resolve invoice discrepancies, support invoice processing, and address root causes of purchasing issues.Monitor vendor performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.Analyze procurement processes and recommend improvements to drive efficiency and best practices.Own site purchasing metrics and KPI reporting.Partner with plant leadership, engineers, maintenance, and other stakeholders to support purchasing requirements.Provide backup support for other Site Buyers and supply chain planning functions as needed. Additional Responsibilities Process purchase orders for capital projects, maintenance, MRO inventory, operating expenses, and raw materials.Review vendor confirmations and resolve pricing, quantity, or delivery variances.Manage vendor-managed inventory (VMI) relationships and associated invoicing activities.Monitor and resolve open purchase order and invoice reconciliation issues.Train requisitioners, approvers, and receivers on purchasing policies, procedures, and SAP processes. Qualifications Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, which will provide a working knowledge of the laws, regulations, practices, and procedures concerned with purchasing activities.5+ years’ experience in purchasing, inventory management, or manufacturing activities.Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.Passion for accomplishing preferred quality, service, and best value in Purchasing Preferred Or Desired Qualifications SAP systems knowledge (Strongly Preferred)Comfortable working in a team environment.Leadership during projects and at the facilityExperience using continuous improvement toolsExperience in a manufacturing environment (Strongly Preferred)Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. a Little More About Us Through the responsible development of innovative and sustainable building products, CertainTeed, headquartered in Malvern, Pennsylvania, has helped shape the building products industry for more than 110 years.
