Essential Job Functions
- Provide support and supervision to a small group of children at an office-based Respite Site.
- Aid children with positive behavior and well-being while in their care.
- Exercise good judgment.
- Provide services as scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
- Complete Respite Daily Logs in accordance with program procedures and submit within 24 hours.
- Adhere to the agency's policies and procedures.
- Attend all scheduled supervisions, meetings, and trainings as assigned.
Essential Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills
- An understanding of normative child development.
- Ability to respond calmly and competently to crisis situations.
- Understanding of unconditional positive regard.
- Understanding of professional boundaries and ability to set appropriate limits.
- Understanding of the dynamics of working with children and families who have behavioral and emotional needs.
Education, Experience and Certificates
- Minimum of 18 years of age or older;
- Minimum of a high school diploma/GED;
- At least 6 months of previously documented experience working with children/families;
- Must be able to pass background checks including DMV, CPS, APS, and Criminal checks.
