Responsibilities

  • Performs complex assignments in office, on site, field, and laboratory.
  • Solves a variety of complex simulator and/or aircraft systems problems.
  • Performs preventive maintenance tasks on the simulators and associated simulator systems.
  • Aids in diagnosing and correcting problems on the simulators and associated simulator systems.
  • Diagnoses and corrects complex problems on the simulators and associated simulator systems.
  • Utilizes maintenance management system to record and track maintenance activities.
  • Trains technicians in basic skills.
  • Provides technical training for other technicians.
  • Completes all designated training activities.
  • Actively pursues continued professional growth and training.
  • Performs pre-flight and post-flight on all simulators.
  • Runs and evaluates required FAA Approval Test Guide (ATG)/Qualification Test Guide (QTG) tests.
  • Aids the Engineering Team with modifications, design changes, and software enhancements.
  • Performs refurbishment and hardware modifications.
  • Pursues knowledge and skills to enhance ability as a technical expert.
  • Performs software changes to correct problems on the simulators and associated simulator systems.
  • Identifies and coordinates efforts to correct training deficiencies.
  • Affords technical support to the Group Lead in day-to-day operation of maintenance activities.
  • Learns and complies with CAE quality management system.
  • Provides customer service support and addresses customer needs in a timely manner.
  • Performs logistics duties, including parts received, repair, and testing/validation.
  • Maintains the simulators through housekeeping functions as required.
  • Performs administrative tasks as required.
  • Supports the technical services group as required.

Requirements

  • 2-year technical degree or equivalent related training.
  • Minimum of 5 years direct simulator experience with at least 3 years of relative simulator experience per assigned location.
  • Proficiency with all types of test equipment.
  • Proficiency with software diagnostics and utilities on at least 1 type of simulator.
  • Troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to perform in-depth analysis and research for hardware modifications and upgrades.
  • Ability to assist the CAE SimuFlite Engineering Team with modifications, design changes, and software enhancements.
  • Ability to assist with the development and delivery of technical training for other technicians.
  • Demonstrated ability as the Technical Expert on at least one major simulator system (i.e. motion, visual, aircraft systems, etc.).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and suite.
  • Fluency in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading or supporting day-to-day maintenance activities or team coordination.
  • Advanced experience with FAA ATG/QTG testing and evaluation processes.
  • Experience in cross-functional collaboration with engineering or technical services teams.
  • Proven commitment to continuous professional development in simulator or aviation technologies.
  • Experience mentoring or coaching technicians beyond basic training requirements.
