Simulator Technician I-EN
About the role
Prepare the Simulation Training Equipment for daily operation, perform visual alignments, pre/post flight tasks, and Simulation Qualification testing (QTGs).
Responsibilities
- Carry out and evaluate Simulation Qualification testing (QTGs)
- Perform preventative maintenance for each training device based on published schedules
- Load appropriate exercise scenarios and complete Journey Logs
- Learn and perform preventive maintenance tasks on simulators and associated systems
- Aid in diagnosing and correcting issues on simulators and associated systems
- Utilize the maintenance management system to record and track maintenance activities
- Complete designated training activities
- Perform pre-flight and post-flight tasks on designated simulators
- Run automatic Qualification Test Guide (QTG)
- Afford refurbishment and hardware modifications
- Comply with the CAE quality management system
- Provide customer service support and address customer needs in a timely manner
- Perform housekeeping functions to maintain simulators as required
- Perform logistics duties, including parts receiving, repair, testing, and validation
- Perform administrative tasks as required
- Support the technical services group as needed
Requirements
- 2-year technical degree OR 4 years of experience in an electronic, avionic, or other technical field
- Minimum of 0–2 years of relevant experience
- Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing schedules
- Ability to interpret system prints and schematics
- Proficiency operating test equipment (e.g., oscilloscope, multimeter, signal generator, logic analyzer)
- Knowledge of analog and digital theory
- Computer literacy (PC and/or computer mainframe/architecture)
- Proficiency in soldering and circuit board repairs
- Some knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and suite
