Duties and responsibilities
- Ensure all subsystems are up and operational in accordance with the scheduled training start time.
- Conduct pre-training system checks to verify operational readiness.
- Load and configure the required database to support SAF entities and ensure all necessary units have been properly loaded for the selected training scenario.
- Provide familiarization training to operators and personnel when scheduled.
- Training includes proper wear and use of radios and dismount kits.
- Conduct orientation briefings for visitors, providing an overview of the systems, safety protocols, and site procedures.
- Ensure all training sessions, briefings, and maintenance activities are accurately documented and logged into the Integrated Systems Tracking System (ISTS).
- Perform all necessary actions to retain or restore training devices and TADSS (Training Aids, Devices, Simulators, and Simulations) to Fully Mission Capable (FMC) condition.
- Follow applicable technical manuals and repair guidelines when performing:
- Inspection, testing, and servicing.
- Serviceability classification.
- Component repairs, refurbishment, and overhaul.
- Removal and replacement of secondary items and components.
- Repair and remanufacture of reparable components.
- Conduct regular preventive maintenance that includes cleaning, servicing, functional checks, and routine adjustments to ensure all devices and TADSS remain in FMC condition.
Minimum Qualifications
- HS Diploma (AA Degree desirable/Experience Equivalent to Degree) with 2 years of recent electrical/electronic industrial work experience; Minimum 4 years of experience with electrical systems and /or repair of electronic components.
- Valid US-issued Driver’s License.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficiency with military training systems, HITS, TADSS, and live training environments.
- Strong understanding of manufacturer manuals, technical data, and Government standards.
- Ability to conduct thorough system inspections, operational checks, and preventive maintenance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working closely with both technical teams and military personnel.
- Flexibility to work varied hours in a dynamic training environment, including possible weekends and holidays, as training schedules demand.
Working condition
- Ability to perform duties in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, and rain) and at height (towers and phone poles).
- Exposure to bright flashes of light.
- Noise between 50 dB to 165 dB.
- This position may require travel to other installations and other ATMP locations throughout CONUS.
Physical Requirements
- Do repetitive tasks.
- Requires frequent standing, walking, and sitting.
- Required to stoop under or squat, kneeling, and crouching.
- Able to reach with your hands and arms, talk, and hear.
- Lifting: Frequently lift and move up to 35lbs.
- Vision: Requirements for this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
