Simulator Technician for SOA Flight Simulation
About the role
The Technician will work independently and exercise good judgment and discretion, performing the general maintenance of the flight training devices in accordance with Regulatory Authority requirements and company standards. This full-time position supports operations from 0600-2300 Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities
- Perform simulator maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Conduct daily pre-flight and preventive maintenance tasking.
- Work with the Simulator Team to solve complex problems.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve maintenance issues with devices in a timely manner.
- Understand and adhere to quality and regulatory requirements, including FAA Part 60.
- Ability to perform and accomplish tasks associated with the Qualification Test Guide (QTG).
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Credentials
- Four-year college degree or technical school with a concentration in aeronautics, technology, computer science, computer programming, or engineering; or a combination of three (3) or more years education and experience, including experience in a maintenance role, civilian/military electronics/avionics, or related technical or maintenance experience.
- Well-developed communications skills.
- Must hold at least a private pilot certificate with an instrument rating.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervisory responsibilities include that of Simulator Student Worker employees.
Physical and Sensory Abilities
- Regularly required to sit to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard.
- May be required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the campus.
- Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel or stoop in order to conduct business.
Working Conditions
- The working environment is a climate-controlled setting.
- It is well lighted, and the noise level is moderate.
- Working environment also includes facilitation of events outdoors occasionally.
- Daily driving requirements may be required for travel in the performance of the essential functions of this position.
Compensation and Benefits
Compensation is determined based on factors such as qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, along with University needs and external market conditions. The position may also be eligible for comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and tuition assistance. The salary range is $45,000.00 - $55,000.00.
