Simulation Operations Specialist
About the role
The Simulation Operations Specialist serves as the operational lead for assigned simulation activities within the SPEAR Center. The role is responsible for planning, coordinating, executing, and closing simulation events while ensuring a safe, consistent, and high-quality learning environment. Responsibilities include coordinating faculty and staff, directing Simulation Assistants and Operations Technicians, preparing simulation rooms and equipment, operating manikins and AV systems, troubleshooting technical issues, maintaining event documentation, and supporting simulation-based education, assessments, tele-simulation, and hybrid learning activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with at least 3 years of experience in simulation, healthcare, technology, or teaching OR Associate's degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience
- Strong knowledge of simulation operations and workflows
- Experience with simulation technologies, AV systems, and basic IT support
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer databases
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong problem-solving and real-time decision-making abilities
- Ability to manage multiple events and competing priorities
- Ability to lead teams and coordinate event execution
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
Qualifications
- Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS) certification
- Healthcare simulation center experience
- Experience with tele-simulation and hybrid learning
- Experience operating simulation manikins and task trainers
- Experience with AV and simulation management systems
- Healthcare education or academic environment experience
