Simulation Operations Specialist
About the role
Ensures simulation events are fully immersive through proper room orientation, environment realism, and application of medical moulage and simulated medical conditions.
Assists with planning, coordinating, and executing all simulation exercises, courses, conferences, and workshops.
Serves as on-site liaison for Standardized Patients/Role Players and works with department stakeholders to meet simulation resource needs.
Manages and maintains all equipment, including simulators and computer/audiovisual equipment, ensuring proper working order, maintenance, warranty support, and software updates.
Serves as a liaison to campuses, programs, and hospital leaders for technical assistance and expertise related to simulators and computer/audiovisual equipment.
Supports curriculum development and strategic planning specific to operational and technical aspects of scenarios/curriculum.
Operates human patient simulator systems, simulation task trainers, associated medical equipment, and computer/audiovisual equipment during training exercises.
Facilitates operational and technical aspects of post-exercise debriefings using various audiovisual platforms.
Troubleshoots technical issues related to networking, audiovisual platforms, and simulation equipment.
Responsibilities
- Maps clinical, educational, and operational processes, gathers and analyzes evidence-based data, and presents information to various levels of audiences.
- Knowledgeable in current human patient simulators and simulation/audiovisual platforms, including Laerdal, Gaumard, and CAE Healthcare.
- Strong organization and interpersonal skills.
- Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex concepts and ideas in understandable terms to all levels of internal staff (customers).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Works in a matrix-management environment to achieve organizational goals.
- Solid leadership skills, initiative, and self-direction.
- Effective computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Background in exercise development, instruction and debriefing.

- Familiarity with Mac OS, gaming environments (e.g., Unity), and mobile device platforms and software.
- Familiarity with simulation audiovisual instrumentation platforms such as EMS SimulationIQ Enterprise.
- Familiarity with networking, IT and computer hardware terminology.
- Competent in medical moulage/simulated medical condition application.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Simulation, Technology, Education, Healthcare, Business or applicable discipline.
- 1+ years of experience in direct patient care within hospital or clinical setting.
- 1+ years of experience in simulation operation/education/training, preferably with human patient simulator platforms and audiovisual equipment/operating software.
- 3+ years of experience in simulation operation/education/training.
Skills
- Working knowledge of current human patient simulators and simulation/audiovisual platforms, including Laerdal, Gaumard, and CAE Healthcare.

Pay
$23.71 - $44.09 per hour
Schedule
Full time, Day shift
