Simulation Lab Assistant

About the Role

Responsible for assisting in the development, planning, and implementation of simulation-based experiences within the college and hospital under the direction of the Simulation Center Director.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the day-to-day operation of the Simulation Center in planning and implementation of simulation-based experiences according to policies, standards, and available resources.
• Provides assistance in set-up and teardown of simulation-based experiences.
• Responsible for programming, testing, ongoing maintenance, warranties, and upgrades of simulators, equipment, and operating systems.
• Provides technical support and training in the use of simulation equipment.
• Orders and maintains inventory of simulation supplies.
• Participates in collecting and analyzing evaluation data regarding outcomes of simulation-based experiences.
• Assists to ensure the Simulation Center is in accordance with institutional policies and safety regulations.
• Maintains a confidential environment and respects the privacy of all participants.
• Adheres to the International Nursing Association Clinical Simulation & Learning’s Standards of Best Practice: Simulation.
• Demonstrates continuous professional development by maintaining expertise related to the position.
• Involved in strategic planning initiatives for the Simulation Center under the direction of the Simulation Center Director.
• Assists in ongoing systematic evaluation activities as assigned.
• Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in the field of expertise.
• Participates in meetings, committees, and department projects as assigned.
• Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in healthcare or technology preferred.
• Preferred degree may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Experience with computer technology and simulation experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required (American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network).
