About the role
As a Simulation and Skills Lab Coordinator at American Career College, Richardson, Texas, you will play a crucial role in supporting the nursing curriculum by providing essential lab services and facilitating hands-on learning experiences for students.Responsibilities
- Act as a liaison between faculty and students to ensure the Simulation, Skills, and Science labs meet the curriculum’s needs.
- Coordinate the use of the Simulation lab to enhance students' critical thinking and application of theoretical knowledge to clinical settings.
- Update and maintain the labs, developing and implementing plans, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain appropriate inventory for nursing laboratories and schedule lab practices.
- Assist science faculty in preparing for lab sessions to ensure necessary supplies are available.
Requirements
- Minimum of two (2) years of practical experience as a licensed nurse.
- Ability to create clinical simulation scenarios for teaching purposes using relevant patient medical histories.
- Knowledge of equipment and latest nursing technologies.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in operating related equipment and machines for instructional purposes.
Qualifications
- Hold a master’s degree or doctoral degree, preferably in nursing.
- If teaching in a diploma or associate degree program, must have at least six (6) graduate semester hours in nursing appropriate to assigned teaching responsibilities.
- A current Texas Registered Nurse License is required.
- A current CPR card is mandatory.
