Signing Skills Coach - Per Diem

Duties

• Work one-to-one assisting students with classroom participation skills.
• Support life-skills development and follow classroom routines.
• Meet behavioral expectations and provide positive behavior management strategies.
• Facilitate communication between students and others, including basic interpreting.
• Ride the school bus and support students in community-based learning activities.
• Assist with swimming, personal care activities, and mobility for students with disabilities.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate; Associate Degree preferred.
• Intermediate to advanced sign language skills.
• Basic interpreting skills.
• Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training preferred.
• Experience in support service programs with deaf/hard of hearing or special education programs preferred.
• Desire to work with students with disabilities.
• Physically able to perform essential functions of the position (with or without reasonable accommodation).
