Signal Processing Engineer
About the role
The Electronic Warfare (EW) Division at Leidos is seeking a Signal Processing Engineer to support EW programs in Arlington, VA or San Diego, CA. This position involves enhancing sensor and signal robustness in complex environments and advancing research and advanced applications for ongoing and future EW programs. Candidates will collaborate with scientists and experts to grow their knowledge and career, potentially leading tasks.
Responsibilities
- Develop, model, and test algorithms in Matlab, Simulink, or C++
- Analyze results from simulation or real data to identify root causes and trends
- Develop novel and advanced algorithms, performance simulation, and analysis using simulated and real data in time series and spectral domains
- Participate in lab-based and field testing
- Support marketing and business development initiatives
- Engage in multiple projects, interacting with customers
Requirements
- U.S. Citizen with an active Secret clearance and eligibility for a TS/SCI level clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field
- 4+ years of experience in radar signal processing
- Fluent with tools such as MATLAB, Linux, Mathematica, Python, Simulink, and languages like C/C++, Java
- Working knowledge of digital filtering, spectral estimation, detection and estimation theory, linear algebra, and stochastic processes
- Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment and independently
- Adaptability to new challenges with a strong motivation to grow and learn in new areas
Preferred Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI clearance
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field
- Task lead or team leadership experience
- Experience translating functional requirements into tasks
- Experience working in areas of modeling and simulation (M&S), radar, adaptive radar, signals processing, algorithm development, synthetic aperture radar (SAR), or similar fields

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this role is $87,100.00 - $157,450.00. Additional factors such as responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreements (if any), or other law, are considered in extending offers.
