About the role
The Signal Integrity Test Engineer will lead and develop test plans, verification protocols, and compliance documentation for high-speed cable assemblies and related components. They will perform characterization and validation using advanced measurement equipment and methodologies, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and mentor junior engineers.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop test plans, verification protocols, and compliance documentation for high-speed cable assemblies (e.g. DAC, ACC, AEC).
- Perform characterization and validation of high-speed connectors and cable assemblies using VNA, TDR, BERT, and other advanced measurement equipment and methodologies against IEEE, OIF, MSA, and other standards as required.
- Conduct simulations and modeling as needed to support test fixture development and assembly failure analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, quality and sourcing to ensure lab measurement equipment capability aligns with the current product development roadmap.
- Mentor junior engineers and technicians, providing technical leadership and guidance.
- Drive continuous improvement in test methodologies, automation frameworks, and data analytics.
Requirements
- B.S. Degree in an Engineering discipline
- Minimum of 2 years of industry experience
- Knowledge of scripting / programming languages i.e., Python
- Experience using test equipment such as oscilloscopes, Time Domain Reflectometry (TDR) modules or Vector Network Analyzer (VNA)
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally to support Molex sites and customers
Qualifications
- B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering
- 2+ years of progressive engineering experience with a strong understanding of product High Speed testing and designs
- Experience with RF/microwave test and measurement equipment such as digital sampling oscilloscopes, TDR modules, 4-port network analyzers, and bit error rate testers
- Electromagnetic simulation experience with software such as Ansys HFSS or CST Microwave Studio
