Responsibilities
- Aid in providing solutions to customers across various sectors regarding their high-speed data transmission needs.
- Identify and resolve signal integrity issues in PCB layout, and guide layout for customers.
- Design, simulate, characterize, and apply high-speed electrical connectors and cable-based interconnects.
- Support internal Sales Engineers in developing strategies for product adoption at existing and new accounts based on signal integrity and electrical engineering expertise.
- Apply circuit theory and high-speed digital design principles, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team on the development of next-generation high-speed backplane interconnect products.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics.
- Hands-on experience with frequency-domain and time-domain component and circuit characterization, including understanding of test and calibration methods.
- Experience with signal integrity measurements and debugging using TDR, VNA, pattern generators, error detectors, and similar measurement equipment.
- Understanding of electro-magnetic principles.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering or Physics.
- Two or more years of industry experience.
- Experience in component design and application of high-speed interconnects into communications systems.
- Experience with signal integrity and simulation/analysis tools such as Ansys HFSS and Designer, CST Microwave, HSPICE, MatLab, and ADS.
Pay
The base salary range for this position is $95,000 to $150,000. In determining the rate of pay, Amphenol considers a variety of nondiscriminatory factors, including but not limited to geographic location, relevant industry experience, qualifications, skills, and education. It would be rare for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for a given role.
