The Experienced MCE Wind Technician in the Main Component Exchange (MCE) division at Pearce will play a crucial role in supporting and supervising field work on-site. This position requires deep platform expertise on Siemens Gamesa systems, including advanced diagnostics and major component exchange experience. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Leading team members in lifting operations of equipment at heights over 250’.
  2. Overseeing lifting operations and creating, reviewing, correcting, and amending lifting plans.
  3. Performing safe and efficient repairs to all Wind Turbine electrical systems.
  4. Conducting Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) of equipment as an Authorized Person.
  5. Conducting pre-task planning, Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs), and Risk Assessments (RAs), and daily safety discussions.
  6. Interacting with vendors and customers professionally.
  7. Properly documenting all work in a variety of electronic formats and providing feedback to the Safety and Quality department for business improvements.

Core Experience

  • Minimum of 1.5 years of direct product experience on Siemens Gamesa Platforms.
  • Direct turbine specific experience is required.
  • Main Component Exchange (MCE) experience required with additional knowledge in lifting operations.
  • SGRE Green Profile preferred.
  • Detailed knowledge and skill in generators, converters, controllers, and electrical equipment.
  • Ability to recognize potential issues and major faults.

Physical/Work Environment

  • Ability and willingness to climb a wind turbine vertically at least 300 feet.
  • Maintain a weight between 120 and 280 pounds, including clothing and boots, for OSHA safety compliance.
  • Lift and move equipment as needed (more than 50 pounds).
  • Work in an indoor or outdoor environment in adverse weather conditions with blowing pollen, dust, and grasses.
