About the Role
Red Bank Catholic High School is seeking an American Sign Language (ASL) Teacher for the 2026-27 school year. The successful candidate will teach introductory levels of ASL in accordance with ACFFL and school standards, fostering both linguistic proficiency and cultural awareness of the Deaf community.
Responsibilities
- Develop engaging, communicative lessons that integrate Deaf culture and history.
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages students to express themselves through ASL.
- Design assessments and track student progress to ensure meaningful skill development.
- Use technology daily, including Google applications.
- Contribute to the development of the ASL curriculum, starting with the primary level.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Deaf Studies, ASL Education, Linguistics, or a related field.
- Prior teaching experience preferred.
- NJ teaching certification or certification in progress.
- Highly organized, flexible, enthusiastic, and able to collaborate with others.
Pay
Salary range: $40,000 – $60,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
